Dr Singh had vowed to revive economic growth in India. "The period ahead could be decisive," he said after the Victory. "We must grasp the nettle firmly and forge ahead ... This requires creating a social and political environment in which new investment can be made."
Dr Singh had said tackling terrorism would be a key goal for his new government. "I assure you we will not be found wanting in this task. The assurance of internal security is the topmost priority for us."
All these have turned out to be marketing speeches of a Politician. When Dr Singh took office this country expected a lot to happen. Young citizens dreamt of better governance and a corruption less government. Ambitious plans were made for growth and prosperity. There was talk of India emerging stronger than America.
Alas...what happened in these 20 months? We have heard of scams after scam ..The pride of being an Indian is weaning away.
Beginning with allowing Quattorochi to withdraw all the seized monies from his bank account and allowing him to go scot free, this government led by Dr Manmohan Singh has specialised in all forms of corruption and looting.
There are more problems in Kashmir now than before. The terrorists are able to strike at their will and there are more security concerns. Why is this Government not having the political will to handle the terrorists with an iron hand?
Why is this Government shielding the CVC who is facing criminal proceedings? Why has the Government allowed A. Raja and Kalmadi enough time to hide all their ill gotten wealth? Why is this Government reluctant to disclose the names of the people who have plundered the country? Why is there no effective action against CWG and 2G scamsters?
The Supreme Court is asking all these questions. And yet the PM is not willing to act.
Why is this Government allowing the hoarders and black marketeers to fleece the innocent poor? People of this country are asking these questions. And yet the Prime Minister does not want to answer ... Why is the Prime Minister so weak and helpless?
Mr Singh, we thought you were a honest and dignified person. But your action of protecting the criminals and looters has made me think otherwise.
As a result we see sorry looking faces everywhere. Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna in Australia is a striking example.
Growth is slowing down. Inflation is mounting. The dreams of the younger generations are getting shattered. Other countries are laughing at us.
Mr Singh ....please go home if you have no controls and cannot perform. Lay down your office and retire.
